The Republic of the Union of Myanmar has received a funding in loan & grant from International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) in total amount of USD 58.23 million to implement the Eastern States Agribusiness Project (ESAP).
The lead project implementing agency is the Irrigation and Water utilization Management Department (IWUMD) of the ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MOALI) Myanmar.
ESAP Project Management Unit (PMU) is located in Naypyitaw while the Project Implementation Office (PIOs) are located in Taunggyi (Shan State) and Hpa-An (Kayin State).
The Government intends to apply part of the financing to hire a Service Provider/NGO/Consulting firm to perform the Saving and Credit Group Service Provider 9SCGSP). The SCGSP will be responsible to form the Saving and Credit Group activity Implementation teams (SCGIT) at the State level and the township Level, Provide training to SCGIT in Saving Credit group operation, accounting, book keeping, Linking the Saving and Credit groups to the Project introduced production activities, Enable the Saving and Credit groups to access the local banks, to ensure the sustainability of the SCGs after the cessation of the activities of the service provider.
Project is now inviting the eligible Service Provider/NGO/Consulting form to submit the Expression of Interest (EOI).
